Something to ponder

So here is something to get your mind rolling on music. What do you like about music and why? Do you think music is important to your education and why?

  1. Music inspires me. Well it could be the other way around. I know when I'm working in my studio I'm always listening to music or have some history channel program running in the background. When it comes to music I often dictate what I'm listening to by the mood of the piece I'm working on.

  2. It would take a while to truly express all that I like about music. In short, music stikes a primal chord within my being that echoes through my DNA. Music, in some form or another, has been around since the birth of mankind and it is one of the only mediums that can cross cultural barriers on any level.
Yes music is important for education. Besides teaching kids the obvious hands-on element of music, it teaches math, history and art as well.....except perhaps rap or heavy metal :)

  3. Although I may not be the most musical oriented person, I do love me some tunes. Music is very important to many people whether it be the radio on they way to work, your favorite workout jam while running or even some classical music while sleeping at night. Everyone has a different love for music and I think even if one does not realize it they do have a spot in their heart for music they just have to hear that one song or that one piece of music that hits the soft spot! Awesome page :)

  4. I think music is a very important part of education. Not all of our students are going to think through problems in the same way and some of them are going to respond best to music!

  5. Music is a creative catalyst for me, I am easially distracted unless I'm purposefully distracted, so I generally have tunes playing in the background, there is something innately nessesary about the human need to express through sound, it is an art afterall, incorperating into the classroom would depend on students level of attn. and the relevance of the sounds...Music it's part of the human fiber.
