There is an acceptable way to act in every situation and at every event. For example, when a teacher is giving a lecture, students should be quiet and attentive. At basketball games, it is more than ok to cheer loudly for the team. It would be quite odd to go to a quiet sports game or be in a classroom full of kids yelling while the teacher tried to teach. Thus, it should not be much of a surprise to discover that there is a proper way to conduct our behavior when attending concerts.
According to the dictionary, etiquette is a code of behavior that delineates expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group. We have concert etiquette to show respect to the performers and common courtesy to the other audience members.
Check out the website below about proper concert etiquette in preparation for our own concerts, as well as when we attend other classical concerts. Also look at the post below this one. Click on the link to School Tube and watch the video on concert etiquette.
